The mountains surrounding Sun Valley, Idaho will be filled with the sounds of music this summer and it will all be free! The Sun Valley Summer Symphony, now the largest privately funded free admission symphony in America will kick off its 27th anniversary season with the Edgar Bronfman In Focus series July 24th, 26th and 28th. The Concert season follows on August 1st and runs through August 16th. Under the direction of Maestro Alasdair Neale the symphony has grown to more than 100 musicians from all around North America and features several nationally acclaimed guest artists. The Pavilion opens for seating at 5:30 p.m. and concerts begin at 6:30 p.m.
After twenty-three years of performing great free concerts in makeshift tents, the Sun Valley Pavilion opened in August 2008 with an orchestra stage, 1,500 covered seats and room for thousands to see and hear clearly from the surrounding park. The undulating park around the Pavilion is gently elevated, like a natural amphitheatre, so you'll be able see Dollar Mountain and Baldy while you relax with your picnic basket and enjoy orchestral music and world-famous guest artists.
