Sun Valley Summer Symphony

The mountains surrounding Sun Valley, Idaho will be filled with the sounds of music this summer and it will all be free! The Sun Valley Summer Symphony, now the largest privately funded free admission symphony in America will kick off its 26th anniversary season with the Edgar Bronfman Chamber Music series July 26th, 28th and 30st.  The Concert season follows on August 2nd and runs through August 17th. Under the direction of Maestro Alasdair Neale the symphony has grown to more than 100 musicians from all around North America and features several nationally acclaimed guest artists. The Pavillion opens for seating at 5:30 p.m. and concerts begin at 6:30 p.m.

After twenty-three years of performing great free concerts in makeshift tents, it's time to welcome a permanent new home in Sun Valley. The new Sun Valley Pavillion opened in August 2008 with an orchestra stage, 1,500 covered seats and room for thousands to see and hear clearly from the surrounding park. When the Symphony isn't performing, the new Pavilion will be made available for other concerts. The undulating park around the new Pavillion is gently elevated, like a natural amphitheatre, so you'll be able see Dollar Mountain and Baldy while you relax with your picnic basket and enjoy orchestral music and world-famous guest artists.
