Ernest Hemingway Memorial An avid fisherman and hunter, Ernest Hemingway moved to Sun Valley to enjoy the vast Idaho wilderness. Hemingway worked on three books while in Idaho including "For Whom the Bell Tolls", "A Moveable Feast" and "Garden of Eden". Hemingway built his home just north of Ketchum overlooking the Big Wood River. He spent the final years of his life in Sun Valley and is buried in the Ketchum cemetery. Located on Trail Creek northeast of Sun Valley, the Ernest Hemingway Memorial commemorates the life of the legendary writer. Celebrating Hemingway's life in Idaho, the Ernest Hemingway Memorial has inscribed upon it an ode written for his good friend who perished in a hunting accident nearby.
